Today has been the first time that I have talked back to a troll.
I despise conflict, but this ignorant, motherf*cker is talking shit about the fact that “Puerto Ricans don’t like gay people”. The asshole is generalizing, & has no right to speak FOR US. He can speak for himself or state the fact that “MANY are against gays-blahblahblah”. Don’t speak as if we were all homophobic. Because that is bullshit!
Listen, Puerto Rico as we know it is still a goddamn homophobic country. But I believe it’s just people who dislike those who are different are heard more often. They express themselves more freely & use intimidation for those who believe differently. I bet that if someone made a study or something, they would probably find out that the majority of Puerto Ricans aren’t homophobic.
Many people want to keep it ‘hush-hush’, for reasons like… they don’t want the neighbors to hear them, or the family to know. Many hide their sexual orientation & claim that they are against gay people. I just think the other side isn’t heard of as often as it should. And there are many people who are in-between who keep their mouth shut of fear.
At least, I can say that my mother is like that. She isn’t… against them. But I don’t believe she agrees with it. (Which makes no sense to me, personally.) She’s got no problem talking about… IDK. Chavez & some other political stuff. But when it comes to that, she doesn’t even like it when I express myself in the house. How uncomfortable is that? That you can’t even express yourself without having your mother nagging everything you say or do & always shuts you? It’s probably because the way she was raised. Many of the older generation are very conservative & they try to instill that into us.
So yes, there are people my age that are probably against homosexuals. But I strongly believe that many of the younger generation are more open minded. I think people are starting to- not care as much of what others will say & so on.
At least from where I’m studying, for the most part… half of the people are probably gay, bi or whatever. & those who are straight happen to be very respectful. At least for the most part.
I only wanted to express my opinion that… many people don’t give a shit. & that the younger generation are more open & even accepting.
& this f*cker, who I’m assuming is homophobic himself & can’t write fro sh*t, decides to… talk back to me, when I didn’t even directed my comment to him, saying & I quote “I’m puerto Rican and i do know stuff. You cant for puerto rican because you dont know crap.”
Listen, just because you claim you are Puerto Rican doesn’t mean that you know everything about Puerto Rico. There are many things I don’t know about it. But I just hate how arrogant & IGNORANT the man is. He tries to be all smartass & it’s just pathetic. Heck, he is even arguing with someone else.
Karolyn, if you happen to read this, check this link. The guy even claims there is more Puerto Ricans in Puerto Rico. It’s been a few years, but I remember reading in the newspaper OF PUERTO RICO that their was actually more Puerto Ricans in the U.S. than on the island. & as far as I know, that hasn’t changed yet.
